ROY MORGAN

Roy Morgan is one of the founders of Air Methods Corporation, the largest provider of air medical emergency transport services in the nation. Since its inception in 1980, Mr. Morgan has served as the President, CEO and a director until his semi-retirement in 1991. Air Methods began as a part-time operation with a single Bell 206 helicopter and Mr. Morgan as the only pilot. After 32 years of success, Air Methods thrives with more than 4,000 employees, 400 medical helicopters and 20 medical airplanes.

Prior to developing Air Methods, Mr. Morgan worked as a helicopter pilot for Public Service Company of Colorado, the director of operations and chief pilot for Key Aviation, and as quality control supervisor of the Atlas missile program for Convair Astronautics. He began his career at Boeing Airplane Company, where he was involved in the experimental development of the B-52 aircraft. Morgan is an aviation connoisseur, with more than 19,000 flight hours logged in airplanes, helicopters and other aircraft. He has shared his passion and expertise as a consultant for twenty organizations and helped develop medical flight programs in nine countries. In addition to earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Management from Metropolitan State College in Denver, Colorado, Morgan has obtained a number of pilot and instructor certificates for airplanes, helicopters and gliders. He has been an Association of Air Medical Services board member since 2011 and currently serves as a consultant for Air Methods.
